The Arts and Crafts Movement in Baltimore, Thursday, November 15

Although the Arts and Crafts Movement was predominately a British phenomenon, its impact was felt strongly throughout the United States, and in Baltimore, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It greatly influenced architecture and the decorative arts, and was affected itself by contemporary social and economic philosophies. Although we are famous for our rowhouses, widely-varied in age and style, Baltimore has abundant examples of many other architectural eras.

Join us as Mike and Kathleen Kotarba present a lecture on The Arts and Crafts Movement in Baltimore on Thursday, November 15 at 6 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, Holliday and Lexington Streets, northeast corner of City Hall. Kathleen will address Baltimore architecture and Mike will discuss the decorative arts. A reception follows this lecture which is sponsored by Baltimore Heritage, Inc. and The Baltimore City Commission for Historic and Architectural Preservation. 1 AIA/CES credit with registration. Tickets are $10/BH and AIA members and $20 for non-members. You may also join Baltimore Heritage now for 2002, with dues beginning as low as $20 for an individual membership. Please send your check to Baltimore Heritage, Inc., 11 ½ West Chase Street, Baltimore, MD, 21201.
