Building and Fire Code Training for Rehab Projects
The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and State Fire Marshal's Office are teaming up with AIA, the Maryland Home Improvement Contractors Association, and the Maryland Building Officials Association to provide free training classes on the code requirements for building rehabilitation projects. Two types of classes will be offered. The Basic class is for those who have not had previous rehabilitation code training. The Advanced class has been developed primarily for architects and code officials who design and review commercial redevelopment projects. This class will utilize three highly-technical commercial rehabilitation scenarios to teach the application of the fire, building, accessibility, and other codes that apply in Maryland. 3 AIA/CES(HSW) credits with registration. For additional sessions and online registration go to www.dhcd.state.md.us/smartcodes or contact Louri Larash at 410.209.5818, larash@dhcd.state.md.us. Classes will be held locally as shown below.
