Save the Date! AIABaltimore Annual Meeting Tuesday, November 13
Annual Meeting at Our Newest Glass Box
Join AIA Baltimore for our annual business meeting and program Tuesday, November 13 at the new Johns Hopkins School of Professional Studies in Business and Education, in the heart of downtown Baltimore. Previously occupied by Hamburgers Clothing Store with its bridge extending over Fayette Street, this new glass-skinned building provides a counterpoint to the soaring vertical Mies van der Rohe tower on the opposite corner. Light, proportion, and expressed structure were key in the creation of this latest complement to our revitalized business district.
The reception will begin at 5 with business meeting at 6 pm. Following the meeting, principal-in-charge and design architect of Ziger/Snead LLP, Steve Ziger AIA, will discuss the history and design of the building and will lead a brief tour. The cost is $15 for members, $10 for associates and students, and $25 for non-members. 1.5 AIA/CES credits with registration. Parking is available at the Two Charles Center garage (no vans), located underground at the Downtown Center. Driving west on Fayette Street, bear left, and past the school, enter the garage in the median.
