2005 Baltimore Architecture Week Schedule:
Saturday, October 15 Saturday, October 22
|
AIABaltimore is pleased to announce the second annual Baltimore Architecture Week.
With a spotlight on architecture, this week-long series of events will emphasize the importance of our built environment, from our rich architectural and historical heritage, to current policies, issues and projects, to our dreams and aspirations for our city. This year, we will build on last year’s success with the contributions of many of our previous partners and sponsors. Architecture Week holds something for everyone. We will explore the unique crafts of our local artisans, investigate straw bale construction, and learn more about one of America’s famous parks. We will hold open forums on the quality and complexity of Baltimore and encounter its neighborhoods in walking tours. We will discuss and debate the present and future of our city, and celebrate the best designs crafted by our firms.
We declare that design matters! Along with our partners and sponsors, we are dedicated to an ongoing dialogue on how design affects our community. We believe that by continuing to learn from Baltimore’s past, and by opening our minds to opportunities in the present, we can make better plans on which to build our future.
