Board of Directors

SPOTLIGHT...

Chris Parts

Chris Parts, AIA, was born and reared in Dayton, Ohio. After completing his B.Arch. at the University of Cincinnati, he earned his M.Arch. at the University of California, Berkeley. Later, Chris worked on extensive renovations of his brother's house on Lake Ontario in Rochester, New York, and traveled extensively.

Coming to Baltimore in 1989, Chris worked at Schamu Machowski Greco (Doo then) Architects for several years before joining Hord Coplan Macht , where he now serves as vice principal, in 1991.

Chris specializes in institutional work, especially at the Kennedy Kreiger Institute of The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has designed and managed renovations to several of the Institute's schools including laboratory and office spaces. Chris has also worked on a variety of projects at Loyola College and Charlestown Hall. Other projects include Lenny's Chop House on Pier V at the Inner Harbor and an addition to Holy Trinity Day School in Glendale.

When Chris first moved here to Baltimore, he began volunteering for the Neighborhood Design Center and the Baltimore Architecture Foundation's Kids-in-Design (KIDS) programs. Later, along with co-chair Debra Phillips AIA, Chris led the AIABaltimore lecture series to the level of success it enjoys today. Five years ago, Chris was first elected to the board of directors and has served as its secretary. He has also been active on the property and facilities committee for the past few years as we move through current interior renovations.
