Baltimore Green Week is back for 2005 with 7 days of events promoting sustainable living, building and communities within the Baltimore region!
This year, dozens of community and professional organizations, with hundreds of volunteers, are organizing a citywide week of events, with hands-on activities, films and lectures. Events for the public are free or low-cost.

Saturday, April 2
Project Clean Stream 9 a.m. Noon
Join hundreds of volunteers as we work together to clean the streams found throughout the Baltimore City Watershed. This is a perfect opportunity for residents to contribute to the essential upkeep of our neighboring streams. Sunday, April 3
Eco Festival Noon 4 p.m.

Hosted in conjunction with Baltimore City Department of Parks and Recreation, this festival will provide entertainment for the whole family, highlighting Druid Hill Park resources such as a guided nature hike for children and the newly renovated Conservatory. Clipper Mill will present educational venues and vendors happy to suggest sustainable ideas to be used by the individual home renter/owner. Please contact Christine A. Laney at cal@sber.com. Discussion Forum on Livable Communities 5:50-7:30 Forum; 7:30 to 8:30 Reception and Exhibits
This civic leader discussion at the Baltimore Museum of Art Auditorium will address how Baltimore and other planning departments may institute programs and guidelines that will lead to more livable communities. During the day, USGBC will host closed-door working sessions intended to help planning officials discuss and debate ways that local and regional governments can work to alleviate some of the stresses that are being put on natural resources and public services. Sustainable Design Conference
Baltimore’s Construction Specification Institute (CSI) will present their annual Educational Conference and Professional Vendor Exhibitions at Pier 5 Hotel. Presentations will be designed for the building industry professional, including architects, developers, contractors and real estate brokers. Come to the Silent Auction benefiting the William J. Arbor Day Activity 9am-2:30 pm (8:30 am till 2:30 pm for Stuart Hill Elementary)
Join the Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), the Neighborhood Design Center, AIABaltimore Committee On The Environment (COTE) and Irvine Nature Center as we work with faculty and students to implement plans for Baltimore area schools (Waverly Elementary and Middle School, Cross Country Elementary School, and Stuart Hill Elementary School ) that improve safety, schoolyard environments while simultaneously educating children about green design. Memorial Lecture in Historic Preservation 6 p.m. with reception to follow

Sustainable Film Festival
USGBC will revisit their inaugural event with another film highlighting issues related to sustainable building practices. Last year’s screening of “The Next Industrial Revolution” was a huge sell out success, and this year’s screening at The Rotunda Theater promises to be no different. The Great GREEN Celebration
The final gathering for Baltimore Green Week will be an occasion to say thanks to everyone who participated during the week, and to network with the many diverse organizations that had a positive and influential impact on the events.
