Upcoming Event: Green Projects, Green Lecture, Green Tour

Lecture September 12, 2006, tours September 16, 2006


AIABaltimore’s Continuing Education Committee presents this season’s educational event, Green Projects, Green Lecture, Green Tour. Participants will see and learn about Historic Restoration, LEED certification, and green features, including composting toilets, strawbale construction, recycled/salvaged material, grey water systems, green roofs, daylighting, rainwater cisterns, passive solar, tank-less water heating, concrete countertops, high-efficiency lighting and appliances, soy insulation, pellet heating and more!

Reception and lecture will take place in the AIAGallery, Tuesday, September 12, 5:30 p.m. Lecture, $10 members, $15 public, $5 students/associates. The self-guided tour will consist of three separate projects: an award-winning Straw Bale house in Pasadena, a Green Home in Roland Park, and the historic restoration and LEED certified Stewart’s Building in Baltimore. The tour will take place on Saturday, September 16, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., and costs $15. Tour tickets and maps must be obtained at the lecture. Please RSVP by sending check to AIABaltimore. Up to 4 AIA/CES (HSW) credits available to registered participants.
