22nd Annual Residential Design Awards for 2005: The Jury
This year’s jury includes Larry Frank, AIA, Kevin Johnson, AIA and Terry Squyres, AIA.

Larry Frank, AIA is a founding partner of Bennett Frank McCarthy Architects, where he has guided dozens of projects from inception through construction. Frank contributes to many aspects of design, ranging from schematic design, design development to construction documents and construction administration. In 1993 he and partner Brian McCarthy were recognized by Progressive Architecture for their exceptional work with special needs housing. Frank has been a teaching adjunct at the University of Maryland School of Architecture Preservation and Planning for the last three years, where he has been a regular guest juror.

Kevin Johnson, RA, AIA, LEED is an associate for Cho Benn Holback + Associates, Inc., where he specializes in private and public K-12 and higher education buildings. He received his B.Arch and M.Arch from the University of Utah, where he was awarded a full scholarship sponsored by local architecture firms for his graduate studies. Johnson has been chairman of the AIABaltimore Design Awards Committee for the past 2 years. Recent projects include the Larsen Student Union at Messiah College in Grantham, PA and the Wyman Arts Center and lower school addition at Park School in Baltimore.

Terry Squyres, AIA is a senior associate with GWWO, Inc./Architects, concentrating on educational and cultural projects. Working with clients whose missions are founded in the arts and life-long education provides inspiration for her work. She received her 5-year B.Arch. from the University of Notre Dame, through which she spent a year studying architecture abroad. Squyres has served on the Lecture Series and Urban Design Committees, and is now chairman of the Communications Committee. Recent projects include George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens in northern Virginia, for which she is working on an orientation center, education center and museum.
