BIM is a combination of new and improved 3D modeling and database technologies. The United States A/E/C industry is rapidly embracing this technology and the major process change that comes along with it. In its second BIM program, AIABaltimore’s Technology in Practice (TIP) Committee invites you to join us for presentations by two local firms on how they are meeting this new challenge and opportunity.
The first talk will be given by Paul Hume AIA, Associate Principal at GWWO, Inc./ Architects. He will present a case study of a recent GWWO project. It will examine how the process of architecture is influenced by BIM including issues of staffing, scheduling, hardware, and integration of other software.
Joe Brandli AIA, President of Joe Architect Incorporated will present his experience with various projects and BIM technologies He was first introduced to 3D modeling in 1987. BIM is a common way of practicing for the architects at Joe Architect.
After Hume and Brandli present their experiences there will be a question and answer session. This program is FREE to AIA members, $20 for non-members. Please send payment to AIABaltimore. 1.5 AIA/CES (HSW) credits.
