Johns Hopkins Downtown Center

The future of building design and the construction industry is here.
The change is referred to as Interoperability.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the process.
BIM is a combination of new and improved 3D modeling and database technologies. The United States A/E/C industry is rapidly embracing this technology and the major process change that comes along with it. Architects may recognize the acronym BIM when putting high profile projects like the Freedom Tower, Disney Concert Hall, and San Francisco Federal Courthouse in the same sentence. BIM is being demanded by clients, contractors, and other invested parties at an alarming rate. BIM is here, now.
AIABaltimore’s Technology in Practice (TiP) Committee asks you to join us for a lecture by Markku Allison AIA. Allison is National AIA’s Resource Architect. In this position and as an experienced, licensed architect he serves as an in-house content expert on issues of both current and future concern to architects and the profession. His lecture will be followed by a viewpoint presentation by Ayers/Saint/Gross principal Glenn Birx AIA.
This program is FREE to AIA members, $20 for non-members. Please send clearly-marked payment to AIABaltimore.
