Design Matters: The State of Architecture and Urban Design in Baltimore Presented by AIABaltimore’s Urban Design Committee Many cities, institutions and corporations have discovered that good design is good business. As keynote speaker, Robert A. Peck, President of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, will highlight the value of good design for business, the community, and the city, and present successful examples from Washington DC and around the country. Mr. Peck was previously Commissioner of the Public Buildings Service of the U.S. General Services Administration, worked for the National Endowment for the Arts and was a visiting Loeb Fellow at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Following his presentation, local representatives who have experienced the value of good design first-hand will participate in a panel discussion. The panel and audience will discuss "the state of architecture in Baltimore”, and its successes, follies and future.
